We’re kind of a big deal around here.

21 Nov

While we wait for results and scour Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and all those other social medias to relive the excitement of the weekend, please allow us to gloat, if just for a second:

1. We’re live and in color on the homepage of Flickr right now (look on the right side of the page) and have our own little color spread on the Flickr blog.

2. Our beloved (more or less) hometown rag, the SF Chronicle, gave us a shoutout over the weekend: “Cycling insanity hits Golden Gate Park…”

3. Velo News brought our event to the cycling masses with a lil’ show and tell.

4. And of course, most importantly, CX Magazine gives the event its full due with we’re-not-worthy style coverage.

5. You proably know this already because you check Cycling News 100 times a day, but just in case you missed it Cycling News gave us additional notoriety as well.

Lastly, since we’ve got your attention, please note that we made a bit o’ history this weekend with the first-ever All Women’s SSCXWC field, which pulled in 100 racers, as promised. Check it…

We’ve tallied up all the numbers and the winner is clear:  Santa Cruz, California!

Runner up: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Philly put in a good showing but Santa Cruz came out on top.  Selene from Philadelphia says they’ll be gunning for it again next year so watch out!

Results? etc….

Costume confusion, one more time

20 Nov

Hi

It wasn’t until I saw one of these at Friday’s party that I figured out why everyone is thinking we required costume. Unfortunately, the race organizers did not receive this post card that most of you might have.

COSTUME ARE NOT REQUIRED in spite of what this wonderful card says!

Sorry for all the misunderstandings due to marketing folks.
So far it has been a great weekend and the real fun begins today!!!!
