Singlespeed Cyclocross World Championship Unveils New Details for 2011 Event
Schedule updates and new information available on event website ; Rally cry for women to meet 100-field limit challenge for first-ever all-women’s championship event
San Francisco, CA – November 11, 2011 – Organizers for the 2011 Singlespeed Cyclocross World Championships today announced new details for the three-day event, being held in San Francisco on November 18-20. The schedule for events during the championship weekend is now updated on the event website (www.sscxwc2011.com),which provides additional information on timing and logistics for all activities as well as an FAQ.
“We’ve got a full three days of activities mapped, planned and timed, in a singlespeed cyclocross kind of way,” said Murphy Mack, race co-promoter. “While the men’s championship field is sold out, we’re still welcoming women to the first-ever all-women’s championship race with open arms, and yes, ladies, you can race a singlespeed mountain bike. For all racers, if singlespeed isn’t your cup of tea and you still want in on the action, we have geared races on Sunday as well. Also, don’t forget to hit up our online store for cool schwag – you don’t want to wait until the race to commemorate your hella good time, because when it’s gone, it’s gone.”
Activities for the three-day affair are as follows:
1. Friday, November 18 – Ride, Kick-off Party and Registration Packet Pickup
The weekend’s events kick-off on Friday, November 18, with a cyclocross ride in the East Bay hills. Beginning at 6:00pm on Friday, organizers are hosting the event kick-off party, also at Sheila Moon Athletic Apparel headquarters, with gourmet taco bar, NUUN-sponsored cocktail beverages and New Belgium beers on-tap. Entrance to the kick-off party is free and is open to participants, volunteers, race affiliates and their guests. Food tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door and can be purchased through the SSCXWC store: http://www.sscxwc2011.com/store/.

What may we clear up for you? We’re here to help. Your satisfaction is our goal!
Do we need a USAC liscense for Sunday’s Championship race? I hope not. I’ve given them enough money.
No license of any kind needed. Just come out and be awesome!
Thank you Murphy. I just found some very useful info. I’m scheduled to race the 9am “C’s”. I thought I had to take part in the Saturday events, but I just read its only for the ss ers. Wish me luck on Sunday, it’s my birthday.
Any chance you know how long the waiting list is? Otherwise I may have to try and race the Clydesdale race in the morning?
70, go for Clydesdales
Is packet pickup available on Sat? I’m racing steerage (B-class)
Packet pickup also available 8:30-5:00pm Saturday at Mojo Bicycle Cafe.
So do we get a packet if we are only racing in one of the morning races?
Packets are for SS Championship races, Not for open races. Packets are mostly important for qualifiers. All races pick up numbers Sunday AM
You are of course welcome to hangout and we hope to see you at the Sports Basement Party
Can the qualifier be done on a geared bike, or only on a SS?
SS BABY!
What is the wingspeed velocity of an Albatros? And can I bring my pet “Bigfoot”?
